Pool Benefit Picnic/Concert

8/18 PosterThe 2013 Beneventi’s Picnic/Concert to benefit the White Salmon Pool was held Saturday, August 18, in Bingen’s Dabenspeck Park. Beneventi’s Restaurant hosted a fantastic dinner of baby backed ribs, beef brisket, and their specialty, Italian sausage with peppers and onions, along with mac and cheese and beans – all for only $5 a plate. All the money from the dinner goes to support our pool.

The day began at 3:30 with Kids in Motion, hosted by Mt Adams Park & Recreation District, including a fun run for kids, a skateboard slalom, and a special bike course.

The Mt Adams Chamber of Commerce 5th Summer Concerts kicked in at 4:15 with The High Rollers, followed by Bob Connelly’s new band, The Rhythm Roosters from 6:00 to 9:00.
Between bands, Lyn and Mary Jo entertained and educated with a dog agility demonstration.  Bingen’s Fire Department was there with their giant sprinkler to keep us cool – and wet.

Paul Beneventi started serving the first of 500 $5 dinners at 5:00 pm, and Bingen/White Salmon Business Partners served soda, water, cotton candy, Margaret’s snow cones, and Everybody’s beer for the adults.  Needless to say, everyone went home happy and well fed.
