Halloween is when ghosts, ghouls, princesses, pirates, and the walking dead crawl through downtown White Salmon in search of sugar sustenance.
This annual tradition brings costumed kids and parents from all over the area into town for some concentrated Trick or Treating as local merchants, organizations, and individuals line the street to feed the frenzy.
Everyone is welcome to join in the fun all along Jewett Blvd. on Friday, October 31st from 4-7 pm. Kids are strongly encouraged to be in costume, and accompanying parents are also encouraged to wear costumes.
White Salmon Methodists will be handing out hot dogs; Community Partners will be dishing traditional candy treats, and many downtown shops will also be handing out treats.
For anyone else (business, organization, or individual) wishing to hand out treats just set up on any available sidewalk space, but please ask permission before setting up in front of businesses. Costumes and props are not required but they do add to the flavor of the event.
Mid-Columbia Ministries will also be hosting their “Festival of Light” carnival-style games, hot cider, cookies, and more from 4:30-7:00 in Bubba’s parking lot across from Thriftway.
So plan to get your scare on and join the fun on Halloween evening.
